In a work led by Dr. H. Roschzttardtz (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile) and in collaboration with researchers from the European Synchrotron Research Facility and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, we have studied iron distribution in the seeds of dicots, showing that Arabidopsis and other Brassicaceae have a very different iron distribution pattern. These results have important implications on the choice of plant models to develop seed iron biofortification strategies.
