In an effort led by Dr. Michael Udvardi’s team, we have contributed to the characterization of Medicago truncatula MtMATE67. This protein is a citrate transporter required by the nodule cells for iron uptake from the apoplast and its delivery into the symbiosome. This work has been published in Plant Physiology.
