Dr. Emma Barahona is joining our group to work on how transition metals are intracellularly allocated in nitrogen-fixing organisms. This is a joint project with Dr. Luis Rubio’s group, supported by the CBGP intramural grants funded by the Severo Ochoa program. Emma comes from the Rubio lab where she has worked on nitrogenase biochemistry and in the production of hydrogen in engineered microorganisms.
